PVTC supported 103 students in writing and performing 9 brand-new scripts while mentoring 33 high school interns and employing 22 teaching artists. Thousands of COVID health screening forms and temperature checks have been processed to offer safe in-person programming. 2021 has been about helping kids who were beaten down by the isolation of COVID climb out of a cave and back into a community that loves and accepts them.
PVTC has doubled down with a robust plan to get us back to a safer, healthier, and more enjoyable PVTC for all, including:
- Full productions inside onstage
- Air filtration in Lane Hall to keep particles out of the air and allow us to be inside during the seemingly inevitable wildfire season
- On-site COVID testing for actors & staff to allow for safe productions
- A return to a comprehensive slate of after-school programming
- Outreach in local schools
- Workshops & opportunities for adult community members
- Increased diversity and pay equity in leadership, staffing, volunteers, and participants
- Updates & improvements to our lighting & sound booth, grid, seating risers, and stage
